The best Google doodle ever

Only today on google: a working synth to celebrate Robert Moog's birthday. Does not seem to work on iPhone. That would have made it perfect.

By the way, Moog rhymes with vogue...

For the day after today: a link to the archives.

Apple is now a phone company

Apple has more turnover in phones than all other products combined: http://www.businessinsider.com/chart-of-the-day-apple-the-iphone-company-2012-1.

Who would have thought. Not the other Steve...

The Terminator was a Mac and Robocop ran MS-dos

Ultra nerdery from MacWorld: http://macworld.nl/nieuws/04678879-the-terminator-was-een-mac.html. What were these androids running inside? Brilliant! (Article is in Dutch though). And not a word about R2D2...

Microsoft sells 400 million copies of Windows 7

About this article:

Seems impressive but...

Windows XP was running alongside NT2000 which was quite usable and only a year older. Many corporate users were happy and did not had a need for upgrading. Private user could still work nicely with Win98 SP/2, only two years older than XP (skipping over the ME version, because I'm told that wasn't very good).

Nowadays W7 is the first decent release in more than 5 years... or 9, depending how you want to look at it. That could account for a faster adaption rate.
So isn't it more catching up or "getting back in business" than an impressive sales feat?

Would be interesting to see when and how this graph is going to taper off...

Samsung and the Galaxy Tab: a galactic challenge

I know, the title is bad pun, couldn't resist...

Proof that Apple's claim that the struggling competition for the iPad is no spin, is being delivered by Samsung themselves. Note that this is a supplier that actually brought a product to the market, as opposed to only making announcements.

And the analysis does not even seem right. Thin is a challenge (while preserving battery life) but also weight and that price... The two million sales are also suspect. In short: they never left square one.

iPad 2 unveiling

Saw the video today. I Can only feel sorry for the competition. My guess is that it will take a while before they even come close...
